Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg may have reached an agreement with both Atletico Madrid and Juventus, as his Spurs future looks uncertain.

According to La Stampa, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg may have decided to leave Tottenham in January as he reportedly reached a ‘double’ agreement. The Danish midfielder may have an understanding with both Atletico Madrid and Juventus, but any movement will depend on Spurs’ stance.

Tottenham are in no mood to complicate their transfer plans ahead of the January window, and particularly that of players they could sell. Spurs reportedly want €30 million for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg if any interested clubs are keen to take him away.

Spurs do not wish to complicate matters and sanction a loan move, something Juventus have been eyeing up ever since they made their interest in Hojbjerg known. The idea of paying €30 million does not appeal to the Bianconeri, although they prioritise the 28-year-old Tottenham star ahead of January.

Hojbjerg has had an indifferent start to the season and remains confused as Ange Postecoglou considers him an important part. Despite that, the Australian manager has handed the Dane only a single start in the Premier League this campaign but relies on him without his current first-choice stars.

Spurs have so far maintained their stance and may not even think about selling him in January, mainly if they cannot find a timely replacement. Tottenham will go through a crucial period as current first-choice midfielders Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma depart for the AFCON.

The return of Rodrigo Bentancur will offset those losses, but Spurs could plan on keeping Hjojberg in their squad post-January. In any case, the 28-year-old Tottenham star has reportedly agreed on terms with Atletico Madrid and Juventus.

Atletico Madrid are open to paying a decent fee, but that may fall short of Tottenham’s €30 million asking price. Whether they come on to improve their offer remains to be seen, but Juventus are also ready to try their luck in convincing Spurs about the midfielder.

For starters, Juventus are not in a position to pay the €30 million asking price, but they are open to taking him on an initial loan deal. The Bianconeri desperately need midfield reinforcements after losing Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli to lengthy bans for off-field controversies.

Hojbjerg remains a big target for them, but Juventus are also keeping their options open, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Thomas Partey also linked with moves. The Serie A giants would love to bring a quality midfielder in January, but they may suffer defeat in the 28-year-old Tottenham star’s case.
