Chelsea keen on Roony Bardghji

Chelsea vs Brentford: Preview and Prediction ahead of their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Chelsea are interested in Copenhagen wonderkid Roony Bardghji.

According to Tipsbladet, Premier League giants Chelsea are interested in securing the services of Copenhagen sensation Roony Bardghji.

The 17-year-old is one of the finest young players on the Danish side’s roster. Despite his age, the young attacker has made 64 appearances for Copenhagen’s senior side, scoring 14 goals and assisting one more across all competitions.

Bardghji also has experience of playing in the UEFA Champions League and has already enjoyed 25 minutes of action in Europe’s top competition this season. While there is a long way to go, there is little doubt that the teenager is on the right track to make a name for himself in the game.

Copenhagen are in no mood to sell their prized asset and could seek as much as 100 DMK for his services. This translates to around £11.6 million, a rather modest amount for a teenager with a bright future in the game.

Chelsea under Todd Boehly have shown an affinity for signing promising young talent. Cobham is rife with talent brought in over the last few transfer windows but the club’s appetite to keep adding players does not appear to be satisfied.

It is thus little surprise that the Swedish attacker is catching the eye of those in charge at Stamford Bridge. A right winger, the 17-year-old can also play as a number ten or as a forward if needed. Bardghji still has much to learn and is very much a prospect in development. One can argue that he will need some time to get used to the rigours of the English game before donning the Chelsea jersey with pride.

A move to Cobham will provide the teen with better facilities and a top-notch atmosphere that can aid in his development. But it will come at the cost of him giving up regular playing time at Copenhagen.

Bardghji has the best years of his career ahead of him. Staying put in Denmark could prove to be the best solution in the short term. As long as he continues to impress, there will be no shortage of suitors in the coming years.
