Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City are interested in Joshua Kimmich, with the Premier League champions being best-placed to sign him.
According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Joshua Kimmich is gaining popularity in the transfer market. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City are keen on signing the 28-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder. But the Premier League champions are seemingly the front-runners to land him.
Joshua Kimmich has been an exceptional performer for Bayern Munich since arriving from VfB Stuttgart over eight years ago. The German international began his career at the Allianz Arena as a right-back before succeeding Philipp Lahm by converting into a holding midfielder. Since then, he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.
The 28-year-old has turned out over 350 times thus far for Bayern Munich, chipping in with 40 goals and 99 assists. But Kimmich’s long-term future at Bayern Munich is uncertain following a few comments by Thomas Tuchel. Such a situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs.
Several well-known outfits considered securing Kimmich’s services in the summer transfer window. But while Barcelona and Manchester United contemplated a move, it never materialised. However, Barcelona and Manchester City remain keen on signing the Bayern Munich powerhouse, with Real Madrid also joining the chase.
Barcelona can do with a long-term holding midfield solution, with Oriol Romeu being on the wrong side of 30. As for Real Madrid, the Merengues have two world-class defensive midfielders in their squad. Nonetheless, Real Madrid will compete with Barcelona and Manchester City for Kimmich’s signature.
Speaking of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has Rodri in his squad. But with the former Barcelona manager utilising the 4-2-3-1 formation this season, signing Kimmich can be the way to go. And the report claims that the Premier League champions are the best-placed club to land the 28-year-old German international.
