Jakub Kiwior has been linked with a move away from AC Milan in recent weeks, with Serie A giants AC Milan keen on signing him.

A report from Tutto Mercato Web has claimed that Arsenal will not entertain any offers for Jakub Kiwior midway through the season. AC Milan are keen on signing the 23-year-old defender on loan in the January transfer window.

Interestingly, recent updates have discussed a possible move to Barcelona as well. The talented young Polish defender has struggled for game time at Arsenal, and he might need to leave in order to play regularly.

A loan spell would have been ideal for the defender’s development. But Arsenal are clearly not keen on weakening their squad midway through the season. Arsenal are hoping to challenge for the league title, and they need a deeper squad to compete with the likes of Manchester City.

Kiwior is highly rated at the North London club, and he has a big future ahead of him. He could be a key player for Arsenal in the coming seasons. So, it is no surprise that the Londoners want to hold on to him. The player has also filled in rotated positions Gabriel Magalhaes in the last few games.

The 23-year-old is versatile enough to operate as a full-back as well as a central defender. He can play as a defensive midfielder as well. Apart from his defensive abilities, the 23-year-old is excellent with his distribution of the ball.

He will be hoping to play more often in the coming months, and it remains to be seen whether he can force his way into Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans soon. The Polish defender cannot afford to sit on the bench every week at this stage of his career.

Regular football will be the key to his development and Arsenal will have to address its situation in the coming months. If they cannot offer him ample game time, they should look to let him join another club on loan in order to gain valuable first-team experience.

The 23-year-old has all the tools to develop into a top-class player for Arsenal in the coming seasons and they must prioritise his development over the next few months. A temporary move to AC Milan might not be a bad idea for the 23-year-old, especially if they are prepared to play him regularly. But a winter return to Serie A is not on the cards.
