Real Madrid are interested in acquiring the services of the 23-year-old Chelsea full-back Reece James in January.
According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid are keen on having Reece James in their ranks. The 23-year-old Chelsea full-back is amongst the best in the world in his position and quite a few top clubs in world football would love to have him in their ranks.
James has been at Chelsea since his childhood days and he has come up the ranks at the club. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2019. He has since gone from strength to strength and is currently their club captain.
The 23-year-old might have struggled with injuries but he is still amongst the best full-backs. Over the years, he has featured in a total of 149 matches and he has even contributed towards 31 goals. He was an integral part of the Blues team that won the Champions League a few years back.
James might have penned down a new deal last summer and his current contract might run until the summer of 2028 but there is still interest in his services. Real Madrid are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. They have been monitoring him for a while and are looking to make a move in the winter.
Dani Carvajal is currently the Real Madrid right-back. He has been doing wonders for them over the years but the 31-year-old is the last phase of his career. And, Los Blancos have started planning for life without him. They feel James could be an ideal replacement.
He has all the qualities needed to succeed at Real Madrid and Los Blancos are willing to offer €40 million for his services. But, it won’t be easy to acquire his services. James still has almost five years left on his deal and Chelsea are the ones in control.
They won’t let go of their skipper with ease and they will demand a huge price. But, given the history of the transfers that the Spanish giants have carried out, they can surely pull it off.
