Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of 27-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
According to a report by Defensa Central, Newcastle United are keen on having Dani Ceballos in their ranks. The 27-year-old has not had enough minutes at Real Madrid since the start of the 2023/24 season, and he has been linked with a move away from the club. Meanwhile, the Magpies are looking to make use of the situation and land him at the club for a bargain price.
Newcastle United have been doing wonders since their takeover. They have gone from battling relegation to making their return to the Champions League in a matter of a few seasons. And, this has been possible because of their exceptional work in the transfer market.
On the back of an exceptional season in the Premier League where they finished inside the top four and qualified for UEFA Champions League, they went on and signed Sandro Tonali from AC Milan. The Italian international was a marquee signing for the club, and he got off to a great start in England.
But, the 23-year-old might not take any part in the second half of the season. He had admitted to the fact that he was involved in illegal betting during his days at AC Milan. Tonali often used to place bets on Milan while he was still playing for them. As a result, he will most likely receive a lengthy ban.
With Tonali expected to be out for a while, the Magpies need a capable replacement and have their eyes on Dani Ceballos. They feel the Real Madrid midfielder could be a great fit for the club. He has already played in the Premier League during his loan spell at Arsenal, and it won’t be that big a task for him to adjust to life in England.
Meanwhile, the player was all set to part ways with Los Blancos in the summer. But, he ended up playing a big part towards the end of last season, and they rewarded him with a new deal. However, he has been out injured and has not had enough chances since his return. As a result, he is considering parting ways with the club.
With Ceballos not getting enough game time at the Spanish club, Newcastle United are looking to push for his services. According to the report, they are ready to put forward an offer worth €20 million for the 27-year-old Spanish international.
