Juventus are keen on having Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in their ranks as soon as possible.
According to a report by Fichajes, Juventus want to incorporate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg into their squad on a priority basis. The 28-year-old Danish midfielder is not having the best of times at Tottenham Hotspur and he could end up parting ways with the club in the near future.
After proving himself at Southampton, Hojbjerg joined Spurs in the summer of 2020. The 28-year-old went from strength to strength and managed to establish himself as an important part of their first team. Over the years, he has featured in a total of 153 matches for the London club and has even contributed towards 26 goals.
Things were going great for the Danish international at the English club until the end of last season. But, a lot has changed since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou. Hojbjerg has fallen down the pecking order and he is no longer an important part of their first team.
On top of that, his contract runs out in the summer of 2025 and as things stand, there are no talks of a contract extension. As a result, he could part ways with the club in the near future. And, this is how Juventus could manage to get their hands on the 28-year-old.
The Old Lady are in a spot of bother because of the ongoing situation related to Nicolò Fagioli and Paul Pogba. Fagioli has received a seven-month ban because of illegal betting while Pogba is expected to receive an even longer ban because of a positive doping test.
Their unavailability will be a major headache for Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri. And, he is looking to sort things out by signing Hojbjerg. Allegri has been doing a great job at the Italian club as they look to build a completely new project. And, he seems focused on having the Danish midfielder in his ranks to take things to the next level.
The manager along with the board have decided to make him their priority signing to reinforce the midfield. While the 28-year-old hasn’t been a regular of late, he has showcased his abilities over the years and he could be a great addition to the Juventus ranks. And, he could be available for a bargain price given his contract situation and his role at the club.
