Fulham are eyeing a move for Galatasaray’s 24-year-old centre-back Victor Nelsson, who remains keen on a new challenge.

According to Turkish outlet Takvim, Fulham have emerged as a suitor for 24-year-old centre-back Victor Nelsson. The Danish defender remains open to leaving Galatasaray in the next window after dropping down to the bench in recent days, with Marco Silva eager to exploit the opportunity.

Victor Nelsson’s stock rose after putting in some stellar performances for Galatasaray last season. The Danish defender helped the side win the Turkish Super Lig and had attracted plenty of interest in the summer.

Galatasaray wanted interested clubs to pay up his €25 million release clause, something no side managed. Nelsson had his heart set on a move to Tottenham, with the North Londoners showing keen interest in signing the 24-year-old centre-back during the summer.

Spurs remain keen to add him to their side if another opportunity presents itself. But they are also chasing other high-profile targets. In recent weeks, Nelsson has seen his role diminished to that of a bench warmer, with former Tottenham star Davinson Sanchez taking his place.

The 24-year-old centre-back recently confirmed he had no intention of signing a new contract and that a January move might appeal his career. With that in mind, Galatasaray are already open to accepting around €20 million. But the current report states they might even take €15 million from clubs.

Such a price might attract more attention from clubs, with Fulham already emerging as a suitor for the 24-year-old centre-back. Marco Silva understands the Danish star’s situation and would offer him a suitable role in his squad at Craven Cottage.

Fulham will likely lose Tosin Adarabioyo in January as the defender’s contract expires in the summer. Either way, Silva wanted a new centre-back before the closure of the summer window. He will likely explore the opportunity for Nelsson for the price mentioned in the report.

Fulham, too, have other targets on their list, but they might take the bet on the Danish international to make a mark at the club. There are chances of Tottenham emerging back in the chase, which might sverve the weight towards the North Londoners considering the player previously preferred to move there.
