Manchester United are not opposed to selling Scott McTominay, although it would take a huge offer to tempt the Red Devils.

According to 90 Min, Manchester United will sell Scott McTominay at the right price, as they could place a massive asking price for the 26-year-old. The Scotland international recently put in a match-winning cameo, which relieved the growing pressure on Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United were open to selling Scott McTominay in the summer, with the fans also open to the idea. The 26-year-old wanted to continue at the club and has showcased he has the talent to succeed here despite being on the periphery for many years.

Since breaking through under Jose Mourinho, McTominay has made 215 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United. He lifted his first major trophy last season with the Carabao Cup triumph. During the summer, the Red Devils rejected a bid from West Ham, while some sources claimed the Hammers were willing to spend big on the 26-year-old.

Instead, Manchester United sold Fred and kept hold of McTominay. While further reports stated the club were open to selling him in January, they are now uninterested in doing business in the next window for the 26-year-old.

McTominay recently bailed out Manchester United against Brentford when the game was heading towards another damaging defeat for Erik ten Hag. The Scotland international came off the bench and scored two stoppage-time goals, including the winner.

While there have been conversations about handing the 26-year-old a start after the current international break, Ten Hag is reportedly happy to keep him on board. The club could retain him until next summer; they are open to a sale for the right price.

By that, one could see Manchester United demanding more than the £30 million West Ham reportedly offered. McTominay has also proven a point with his performances for Scotland during their Euro 20245 qualifying campaign. His goals have put them on the brink of qualification into the finals.

Bayern Munich are also considering an approach for McTominay in January as an alternative to Joao Palhinha. With Manchester United keen to keep hold of him and Ten Hag likely to improve his minutes, the Scotland star may choose to remain here.

However, Ten Hag might sanction a sale if Manchester United receives a jaw-dropping offer from suitors, with Newcastle United also in the race. Hence, for now, his future seems secure at Old Trafford, but things could change in the summer when he will have one year left on his deal. The Red Devils are likely to extend his contract by another year through an option, which appears standard in all their agreements.
