Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of 23-year-old LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a striker in January, and they have their eyes set on Jonathan David. The 23-year-old striker has been doing a great job for Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille, who value him at €40 million, over the past few seasons. And, Spurs feel he could help him take the next step.

David has been at the Ligue 1 club since the summer of 2020. He has gone from strength to strength over the years. Last season, the 23-year-old was on fire as he contributed towards 30 goals in his 40 outings. He found the back of the net on 26 occasions.

The Canadian international has carried his form into the new season and already has five goal contributions in 12 outings. His incredible performances have not gone unnoticed. There was a lot of interest in him during the summer, and the interest has not dropped one bit.

David is currently on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, who wanted to sign him in the summer. The North London club parted ways with Harry Kane in the summer. The England international was their record goalscorer, and his departure has left a huge void.

While their new boss Ange Postecoglou has managed things exceptionally well, they do need an ace striker to challenge the biggest clubs in England. At this stage, Tottenham are at the top of the table in the Premier League. They have played some exceptional level of football. But, the need for a quality striker is quite clear.

Postecoglou, along with the people at the club, feel David could be a great addition to their ranks. The Canadian international has already proved himself in Ligue 1. He is a constant source of goals and he will only get better with time.

The 23-year-old’s contract with the Ligue 1 club runs out in the summer of 2025, and he is keen on moving to a bigger club in the near future. As a result, there is a possibility of a move in the winter window.

According to the report, Spurs can acquire his services for around €40 million, a fee that they won’t have a problem paying given the quality of the player. And, Tottenham are even ready to wait until next summer if they can’t strike a deal for his services in the winter.
