Juventus have entered the race for the services of 22-year-old OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram who is also on the radar of Liverpool.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Juventus have entered the race for the services of Khephren Thuram. The 22-year-old midfielder has been in sensational form over the past 24 months and there has been a lot of interest in his services.

Thuram joined OGC Nice back in the summer of 2019 after his contract at AS Monaco ran out. He has gone from strength to strength since making the move. The 22-year-old was absolutely sensational last season. His impressive performances earned him a place in the French national squad as well.

He has carried his form into the new season and has featured in seven league games so far. The 22-year-old was subject to interest during the summer transfer window but he ended up staying at the club. However, the interest in him hasn’t dropped one bit. Some of the biggest clubs in Europe still have their eyes on him.

Juventus are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. A lot is going on behind the scenes at the Turin-based club of late. While they do have their own financial concerns, the Old Lady now have a few major headaches with regard to their squad.

Paul Pogba has tested positive for doping. His second sample has also tested positive which will most likely result in a long-term ban and Juventus might even terminate his contract. Recently, they have suffered another blow with Nicolò Fagioli involved in alleged illegal betting.

The 22-year-old midfielder is under investigation and if he is found guilty, he could be handed a long-term ban. With Pogba and Fagioli facing long-term bans, Juventus have started planning to reinforce their midfield. And, they have their eyes set on Thuram.

The French international prefers playing as a central midfielder but he can also feature in a defensive role as well out wide on the right in the centre of the park. As a result, the Old Lady are keen on having him in their ranks. But, it won’t be easy to acquire his services as a transfer would cost around €25-30 million and they will have to battle it out with Liverpool.

The Merseyside club were interested in the 22-year-old during the summer. But, they couldn’t strike a deal for his services as they were busy completing other major deals.

Despite having signed some quality midfielders in the summer, Jurgen Klopp’s team are still in need of someone who is a bit more physical and has a solid defensive base. And, the French international seems to have all the qualities needed to fit into Klopp’s system. As a result, they could push Juventus all the way in the race for the signatures of the former Monaco midfielder.
