Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants Bayern Munich to push for the signature of Real Madrid midfield powerhouse Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Aurelien Tchouameni is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel wants the Bundesliga champions to land the French midfielder in the 2024 summer transfer window. But it is unclear if Real Madrid will part ways with the powerhouse.
Aurelien Tchouameni rose in prominence in his homeland, making his mark for Bordeaux and AS Monaco. In particular, the 23-year-old grew in stature during his stint with AS Monaco. And several high-profile clubs showed interest in him before Real Madrid prised him away in the 2022 summer transfer window.
Los Blancos shelled out €80 million to secure the services of the French international. And despite a hit-and-miss debut season with Real Madrid, the player has made his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu. Meanwhile, Tchouameni has already turned out 11 times thus far for Real Madrid, chipping in with one goal.
The Frenchman’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. The summer transfer window saw Premier League bigwigs show interest in him before Real Madrid rebuffed them. But Tchouameni’s stock in the market remains high, with Bayern Munich interested in him.
Bayern Munich also showed interest in the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window. But a deal was never possible, with the player committed to Real Madrid. However, the Bundesliga champions remain keen on landing him next year, with Thomas Tuchel driving the club’s move for him.
Joshua Kimmich faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, with Barcelona and Manchester City interested in him. So, Bayern Munich should scour the market to replace the German international if push comes to shove. Tchouameni is thus a viable target for the Bavarian giants.
But it is unclear if Real Madrid will listen to offers for the 23-year-old French international. The player himself might not be ready to depart from the Santiago Bernabeu yet, considering his stance in the summer. So, it will be interesting to see if Tuchel gets his man at Bayern Munich next year.
