Juventus are interested in acquiring the services of 28-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

According to Corriere Torino via Sport Witness, Juventus are keen on having Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in their ranks. The 28-year-old midfielder has been on their radar for a while now and they might finally go all out to land him at the club in January.

Hojbjerg has been a part of Tottenham since the summer of 2020. He was an integral part of their first team until the end of last season. While he did a decent job last term, the 28-year-old is not a big part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans. He has fallen down the pecking order at the club.

The Danish international was linked with a move away from the club in the summer. There was a lot of interest in his services but unfortunately, a deal couldn’t be struck if any of the clubs were interested and he remained at the club post the end of the transfer window.

The 28-year-old has so far featured in eight matches but he has been on the pitch for just over 200 minutes. He has been used as a substitute in the majority of the fixtures and his only start came in the EFL Cup against Fulham.

His situation is unlikely to change and with his contract running out in the summer of 2025, Spurs are ready to cash in on him in the winter transfer window. Juventus are one of the clubs that have been constantly linked with the 28-year-old.

The Old Lady are in need of reinforcement in the centre of the park and they have linked with the Danish international for weeks now. Things have taken a more serious path over the past few days because of the situation involving Paul Pogba.

The French international’s second testing sample for doping charge came back positive. As a result, Juventus are now looking to terminate his contract. With Pogba all set to be released from the club, the Old Lady will be in desperate need of a midfielder and Hojbjerg could be a great fit for the club.

The Italian giants have already established contact with the player’s entourage as they look to land him at the club. They have been in talks as they look to figure out a way to sign him for Tottenham.

But, Spurs’ demands could prove to be challenging for the Italian club. According to the report, the London club want €30 million for the 28-year-old while other reports suggest it could be as high as €40 million.

Juventus at this stage can’t afford to pay such a fee for the Danish international. They are looking for a straightforward loan. While Spurs are ready to let him leave on loan, they want to have a buy obligation involved in the deal. As a result, the Old Lady will have a tough time negotiating with Tottenham for Hojbjerg’s signatures.
