A host of top-tier clubs are keen on Jose Maria-Gimenez, with Atletico Madrid likely to consider offers for the 28-year-old La Liga defender.

Arsenal and Manchester United are among those keen on Jose Maria Gimenez, as per Fichajes, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also in the mix. Atletico Madrid are reportedly open to considering offers for the 28-year-old La Liga defender.

Jose Maria Gimenez has seen links with a move away from Atletico Madrid over the last many years. Now, the 28-year-old La Liga defender may finally move out of the Spanish side after spending a massive chunk of his career here.

Diego Simeone might see the wisdom in selling the 28-year-old La Liga defender, as he can generate a decent sum in the market. The Spanish side are also facing a financial crunch, and his sale may pave the way to invest in the squad.

In any case, if Atletico puts Gimenez on the market, they are about to generate significant interest from top clubs. As per the report, Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old La Liga defender if he becomes available.

Arsenal are doubtful to make such a move, considering they have a stable defence in their squad. They also have Jurrien Timber out of contention with a long-term injury, and his return will feel like a new signing next season.

Manchester United are already interested in Gimenez, as per a recent report along with Chelsea. They are in need of a centre-back to add to their squad, and Erik ten Hag will see the Uruguayan’s experience and view him as a value addition, at least for the medium-term future.

They do face competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona, per the report, but some factors may prevent him from joining those La Liga giants. For starters, being at Atletico Madrid for so long may force Gimenez to see a move to their city neighbours unfavourable.

Barcelona may not look to bring the 28-year-old La Liga defender, considering the price he may carry. The Catalans do have good relations with Atletico, but they might see any transfer not suitable for plenty of reasons.

Hence, a move to the Premier League might suit, with Chelsea or Manchester United a likely destination for the defender. A move away from Spain could also suit Gimenez as he may see the wisdom in trying out a new challenge, especially in the Premier League.
