West Ham United are keen on acquiring the services of the 29-year-old Wolves full-back Nelson Semedo.

According to a report by Football Transfers, West Ham United are interested in signing Nelson Semedo in the winter transfer window. The Hammers are looking to bolster their full-back position and have their eyes on the 29-year-old who has been in decent form in the recent past.

Semedo came through the ranks at Benfica before joining Barcelona in the summer of 2017. While he did make the move to one of the biggest clubs in world football, the Portugal international failed to get going while in Spain. And, he ended up joining the Wolves in the summer of 2020.

Since joining the English club, the 29-year-old has been a first-team regular. He might not be one of the stars of the club but Semedo is a consistent performer who has been putting in impressive shifts every now and then.

He has featured in all seven of their Premier League games so far this season. He recently played a big part in helping Wolves defeat defending champions Manchester City.

Meanwhile, his contract with the English club runs until the summer of 2025. And, at this point in time, there are no talks of a contract extension. As a result, a few English top-flight clubs are considering signing him.

West Ham are one of the clubs interested in acquiring his services. The Hammers are looking for a Vladimir Coufal replacement and believe the 29-year-old could do a great job in that role. The 31-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Hammers and they have started thinking about his replacement.

Coufal has had a great start to the new season and the Irons could be tempted to activate the clause to extend his stay by another year. But, they have informed him that they can’t guarantee him a regular spot in the starting XI.

They are very serious about their pursuit of the 29-year-old Portuguese international and have already made an enquiry about his availability. The Hammers will surely make moves to land him at the club once the winter transfer window opens.
