Aston Villa are preparing an offer to acquire the services of the 27-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

According to a report by XCatalunya, Aston Villa are keen on having Dani Ceballos in their ranks. The 27-year-old has been on their radar for a while now and they are looking to push for his services in the winter transfer window.

Unai Emery’s Villa wanted to land the Spanish midfielder in their ranks during the summer. But, he ended up signing a new deal on the back of an impressive run in the last part of the 2022-23 season.

After coming through the ranks at Real Betis, Ceballos joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2017. He was a young prospect who didn’t really have much game time at the Spanish giants over the next two seasons. As a result, Madrid ended up sending him out on a two-year-long loan to Arsenal.

After his return to his parent club, nothing much really changed as he struggled with injuries and got limited game time. Even last season, the 27-year-old was not a major part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

However, he did get his chances towards the last phase of the season and ended up impressing one and all. His exceptional performances forced Los Blancos to offer him a new deal. The Spanish international ended up signing a contract that will run until the summer of 2027.

However, things haven’t gone well post the renewal. He has only played 49 minutes of football this season because of a hamstring injury. And, given the form of Real Madrid’s midfielders, the 27-year-old finds himself way down the pecking order and might not get regular first-team minutes at the club.

Aston Villa as well as Madrid are both well aware of the situation, as a result, a move away from the club in the winter seems a real possibility. Unai Emery wants to further bolster his midfield and he believes the 27-year-old who has already featured in the Premier League could be a great addition to their ranks.

The English club are keen on having him in their ranks and are preparing an offer in advance as they want to be ahead of any competition for his signatures. They are ready to offer up to 18 million to sign the Spanish international from Real Madrid. And, are willing to offer him a salary of 8 million a year. With Villa keen on his signatures, the final decision will be in the hands of the team in white and the player.
