Juventus looking to renew Federico Chiesa deal

Federico Chiesa has been linked with a move away from Juventus in recent months, with Manchester United and Newcastle United keen.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United and Newcastle United are keen on signing 25-year-old Italian international Federico Chiesa. However, Juventus are now looking to renew his contract, and the development will come as a major blow to the two English clubs.

Manchester United could certainly use a quality winger, especially with the way Jadon Sancho and Antony have performed in recent weeks. Both players have been largely underwhelming, and the Red Devils need to bring in attacking reinforcements. Antony has been struggling with off-field issues as well. Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho has been banished after a run-in with Erik ten Hag.

Chiesa has been a key player for Juventus this season, and he has five goals across all competitions. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to sanction his departure if there is a lucrative offer on the table.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United have the finances to submit a big money offer for the Italian international as well. Chiesa was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window as well, but a move did not materialise.

He was regarded as one of the best young attacking talents in European football when he helped Italy win the UEFA Euro 2020. However, his development has stalled of late because of injury problems. Chiesa has struggled with persistent injury issues over the past year but has now been able to recapture his best form once again.

He has been in red-hot form so far this season. So, it is no surprise that Juventus want to keep him at the club for the long run. Chiesa would help most clubs improve, and he has the quality to thrive in the Premier League as well. He would be a quality acquisition for the two English clubs.

It remains to be seen whether the player is ready to commit his long-term future to the club amid interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United. Both clubs would represent an exciting opportunity for the player and he could be tempted to move on if there is a lucrative offer on the table.
