Everton and Brighton are vying for Samuel Iling Junuir in January, with Juventus open to a sale to raise funds for other transfers.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Samuel Iling Junior continues to attract the interest of Premier League clubs ahead of January. Everton and Brighton are keen to bring the 19-year-old Serie A ace, with Juventus open to selling him in the next window.
Samuel Iling Junior made a sufficient impact with Juventus last season when he got the chance. The winger has a big future, and the Bianconeri were reluctant to let him leave during the summer when some clubs were chasing him.
West Ham United reportedly approached in the summer, while there were others in the mix. For instance, Nottingham Forest decided to bring Anthony Elanga from Manchester United. The others also made some or the other alternate signing.
As Juventus did not entertain any approaches, it became clear the Turin giants wanted to keep hold of him for the new season. Aston Villa were also among the chasers, but Massimiliano Allegri saw him for the left-wing-back role, which he so dearly likes in his system.
Since the start of the current season, the emergence of Andrea Cambiaso as Filip Kostic’s competition has proved difficult for Iling Junior. Since Juventus have players in that role, they are reportedly open to considering offers for the 19-year-old wideman.
Juventus are keen to raise funds in January for Domenico Berardi. The report states they might look at €15-20 million for Iling Junior in the next window. To their benefit, Everton and Brighton are among those keen on the winger and could have the funds to facilitate such a transfer.
Everton are increasingly looking at talents that can come in and benefit them in the short term, that is the current season. Moreover, they will be keen for players to come in and improve in value, which may help them later in the future.
It’s a long play for Everton in the transfer game, but they could rekindle their interest in Iling Junior if he becomes available. Brighton, who are currently a thriving hive for young talents under Roberto De Zerbi, could continue looking for bargain deals.
Iling Junior certainly carries the talent to become a sensational player in the future. Brighton, for their part, would want him in the squad. Whether they or Everton manages to convince Juventus of a sale remains the question. He will certainly become an interesting subject in January.
