Newcastle United are ready to put forward a player plus cash deal for the services of 24-year-old Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
According to a report by SportItalia, Newcastle United are keen on having Victor Osimhen in their ranks and they could push for his services in the winter because of the ongoing turbulent situation involving the player at Napoli. The Magpies are preparing a sensational player plus cash deal to land the Nigerian superstar in their ranks.
Osimhen joined the Italian club back in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille. He has gone from strength to strength since joining the Naples-based club. The 24-year-old is amongst the best forwards in world football and he guided them to their first league title in three decades last season with 31 goal contributions in 32 outings.
The Nigerian international’s contract with the Italian club runs until the summer of 2025. Despite having over 18 months left on his current deal, the 24-year-old had agreed on a new deal with the club. But, things have been put on hold off late.
Osimhen’s future at Napoli seemed secured and he was set to sign a new deal. But, as of now the new deal is on hold and the relationship between the club and the player has deteriorated because of the ironic content that the club posted on their TikTok related to the former Lille forward.
Meanwhile, there are quite a few top clubs that could make a move for him in the near future. Given all that has happened in the recent past, Newcastle United are willing to try their luck in winter. While it will be difficult to acquire his services mid-season, the Magpies have a deal that the Napoli chief might end up considering.
The Magpies have done sensational in the recent past and they are now looking to sign a world-class forward in order to take the next step. They feel Osimhen could be a great acquisition for the club and he could help them push for major titles in the near future.
As a result, the English club are ready to offer €75 million plus Alexander Isak in return for the 24-year-old Nigerian superstar. Isak joined the Magpies last summer for around €70 million and has been doing a great job for the club.
But, they are ready to part ways with him in order to sign one of the best talents in world football. Isak’s involvement in the deal will guarantee Napoli a quality replacement. As a result, they could consider this offer. However, their priority will be to resolve the issues with the player and extend his stay at the club.
