Boniface had a total of 34 goal contributions last season while playing for Union SG. On the back of his impressive performances for the Belgian club, Bayer Leverkusen decided to acquire his services in the recently concluded transfer window.

The 22-year-old has carried his form into the 2023-24 season at his new German club under the leadership of Xabi Alonso. The Nigerian international has found the back of the net on eight occasions and also has three assists to his name in just seven outings in all competitions.
