According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham United are keen on having Fran Beltran in their ranks. The 24-year-old midfielder has been doing wonders for Celta Vigo in La Liga of late and he has been on the radar of the Hammers for a while now.

Beltran came through the ranks at Rayo Vallecano before joining Celta Vigo in 2018. He has gone from strength to strength since joining them. The 24-year-old has been the mainstay of their team over the past few seasons.

His exceptional performances have even earned him a cap for the Spanish national team and he is on the radar of quite a few top clubs from across Europe. Beltran has almost three years left on his deal at the Spanish club but given the amount of interest in his services, he could end up leaving them in the near future.

West Ham have been on the lookout for a new defensive-minded midfielder for some time now. And, the 24-year-old has caught the eye of their scouting network. He has all the skillset to succeed at the club. The Spanish international has an exceptional work rate without the ball. He can break up play, win back possession and can even help launch attacks.

Beltran would be a perfect fit for the Hammers who are preparing themselves for life without Tomas Soucek. The 28-year-old midfielder has been the mainstay of their midfielder over the past few seasons. Last season, he was involved in a total of 50 matches and played a big part in helping them win the UEFA Europa Conference League.

As far as the 2023-24 campaign is concerned, he has featured in a total of five matches and was a part of the starting XI on four of those occasions. While he remains a very important part of their first team, his contract runs out next summer. And, he hasn’t yet agreed on a new deal with the club.

As a result, there is a real possibility of him leaving the club for free. And, bringing in Beltran will help them cope with the 28-year-old’s absence.
