Liverpool retains an interest in Federico Chiesa as Jurgen Klopp could make a move for the Italian as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool are interested in Federico Chiesa as they view the Italian as a Mohamed Salah replacement option. The Serie A winger would perfectly suit in terms of quality and style, but with his upturn in form, Juventus will play hard to sell him.

Federico Chiesa had divided opinions last season with some lacklustre performances for Juventus since returning from a severe injury. The overall Juventus side lacked quality the previous season, but the 25-year-old Serie A star became focused on his stature.

For instance, he was available for €40 million during the summer, but clubs were reluctant to sign him due to his form. Liverpool had always admired him, but they did not need any additions to their front-line positions.

However, late in the window, the growing pressure of Saudi Arabia for Mohamed Salah may have brought them to their toes. While they rejected a mammoth offer worth €150 million, Liverpool are already planning for life without their Egyptian talisman in the scenario they sell him in the future.

If Al Ittihad comes in with a mammoth offer again in January or next summer, Liverpool could seriously consider a sale of their star man. While Salah has started the season in solid form, they will give a second thought to the money on offer.

If Salah leaves, Chiesa could become one of the first choices to replace the Egyptian. Compared to the summer, Juventus could ask for significantly more for the 25-year-old Serie A star after a solid upturn in form since the current season began.

Including his strike in the loss to Sassuolo, Chiesa has four goals in five games for the Bianconeri, putting him in the back of some top players in the league. Hence, Liverpool will find it hard to convince Juventus to sell him at a reasonable price.

The Reds had the opportunity in the summer and may have taken advantage of a lower asking price. However, the following window or summer market will make the 25-year-old Serie A star an expensive acquisition, but he’s one player who would sufficiently replace Salah.
