West Ham United are in contact with the representatives of 21-year-old forward Hugo Ekitike who is also on the radar of Crystal Palace.

According to a report by 90min, West Ham United are keen on having Hugo Ekitike in their ranks and they have been in contact with his representatives. But, the Hammers are not the only ones in the race, even Crystal Palace are looking to sign him after failing to do so on deadline day.

After coming through the ranks at Stade Reims, Ekitike joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer. It was an initial loan move with an obligation to buy. The transfer became permanent this summer. However, he could still end up leaving the club in the near future.

Despite being surrounded by stars like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, the 21-year-old did manage to put in some impressive performances last season. He was involved in 32 matches but was on the pitch for less than 1,400 minutes. Ekitike managed to contribute towards eight goals despite getting limited game time.

While he did manage to put in some impressive performances, the 21-year-old still can’t find a place for himself in PSG’s star-studded attack. Messi and Neymar have left the club but the arrival of Goncalo Ramos, Bradley Barcola and Randal Kolo Muani this summer has seen him go further down the pecking order.

PSG were quite sure that there was no place for the French youth international in their ranks and they hoped he would join Eintracht Frankfurt as part of the deal to sign Kolo Muani. Initially, he was interested in joining the German club but he eventually rejected the move.

On transfer deadline day, Crystal Palace wanted to sign the 21-year-old striker. However, the Eagles failed to strike a deal with the French club and the talks broke down. Palace haven’t lost hope and they could return for his services in the winter if he is available.

Meanwhile, West Ham United are also keen on having him in their ranks. The Hammers are looking for more firepower in attack. They want to add a young forward to their ranks, someone who can lead their attack for years to come and the 21-year-old seems to fit the bill.

The Hammers are in contact with the player’s representatives. They wanted to be informed about his situation and will look to make a move if he decides to part ways with PSG.

Ekitike’s priority is to continue at the French club. He wants to play his way into Luis Enrique’s plans. But, if he fails to do so by the turn of the year, the 21-year-old could consider joining a Premier League club.
