Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of 22-year-old Real Madrid sensation Rodrygo Goes as Mohamed Salah’s replacement.
According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool are interested in Rodrygo Goes. The Merseyside club are keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old Real Madrid attacker as they plan for life without Mohamed Salah. The 31-year-old winger could leave Anfield in the near future to join a Saudi Pro League club.
Salah was subject to a lot of interest from Saudi Arabia in the recently-concluded transfer window. Al-Ittihad were desperate to have him in their ranks. The Saudi Pro League clubs had already signed some of the biggest stars in world football, and Al-Ittihad wanted to make the 31-year-old their next marquee signing.
They even submitted a bid worth €150 million for the Eygpt international, which was rejected. Al-Ittihad were ready to follow it up with a world record bid for his services and according to reports, they were prepared to make him the highest-paid player in the world, surpassing the wages of Cristiano Ronaldo. But, unfortunately for them, they couldn’t strike a deal with Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp was keen on having Salah in his ranks for the 2023/24 season and the Merseyside club had no intentions of letting him leave. As a result, they rejected every offer that was proposed for the former AS Roma winger.
Liverpool might have managed to keep him at the club this time around. But the Saudi Arabian outfits will return for his services in the near future. And, if they end up submitting a world record bid, the Reds could consider parting ways with one of their best-ever forwards.
They have started planning for life without Salah. The Merseyside club want to sign Real Madrid’s Rodygo Goes to replace him. The 22-year-old joined Los Blancos back in 2019, and he has gone from strength to strength since.
Despite being 22, he is already regular at Real Madrid and is capable enough to play anywhere in attack. The Brazil international is amongst the best young forwards in world football and he could surely help them cope with the absence of Salah. It won’t be easy to sign him as Real Madrid are unlikely to let him leave unless the player wants to.
The player is currently quite happy at Real Madrid, but things could change if and when Kylian Mbappe joins the club. If Mbappe’s arrival has an effect on his game time, the 22-year-old might consider parting ways with the club. Even in that situation, Liverpool will have to make an offer of at least €100 million.
