Barcelona will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old Spanish international Dani Olmo, valued at €60 million, from RB Leipzig in 2024.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Dani Olmo is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants want to re-sign the Spanish international in the 2024 summer transfer window. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig will demand around €60 million to part ways with the in-form playmaker.
Dani Olmo has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining RB Leipzig from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2020. The Spaniard was a trainee in Barcelona’s fabled La Masia setup but ended his youth career in Croatia. And his decision paid off, as he secured a quick pathway to first-team football, which might not have been possible at FC Barcelona.
The 25-year-old has made considerable progress at RB Leipzig but has struggled with some fitness issues. Olmo began the 2023/24 season strongly, scoring five goals and providing one assist in four appearances. But a knee injury has struck him, rendering him sidelined for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Olmo’s progress at RB Leipzig has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs in the last few months. The summer transfer window produced links to Manchester City, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich. And the Catalan giants remain keen on re-signing the Spanish international. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig will likely demand €60 million if push comes to shove next year.
Olmo is happy and content at RB Leipzig, who might not want to entertain any offers. But sustained pressure from Barcelona can complicate matters, especially if they turn the player’s head. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s continued interest in the Spaniard is understandable, considering Ferran Torres faces an uncertain future at the club.
In addition, Joao Felix’s loan deal does not have a “purchase option” clause. So, the reigning La Liga champions should keep their options open heading into the 2024 summer transfer window. Olmo is thus a viable target for Barcelona as they look to bolster the offensive unit.

But Barcelona might not be able to afford his price tag of €60 million, considering the never-ending financial mess. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if a 2024 move materialises as they look to bring Olmo back to Catalonia.
