Tottenham Hotspur are all set to push for the services of 23-year-old Chelsea graduate Conor Gallagher in January.
According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur still remain interested in the services of Conor Gallagher, and they are planning to push for the services of the Chelsea midfielder in the winter transfer window.
Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, a lot has changed at Tottenham. The biggest change was the departure of their record goal scorer Harry Kane. Despite the departure of the England international, the North London club are doing quite well in the new season under the Australian boss.
They added quite a few quality players to their ranks in the summer, and those transfers have started to have an impact on the overall performance of the team. While they did manage to sign the majority of the players they wanted, Spurs could not get their hands on Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
Tottenham wanted to add another midfielder to their ranks before the end of the transfer window and they tried signing him on deadline day. But, the move was blocked by the Blues.
Despite failing in the summer, Spurs still retain their interest in the 23-year-old Chelsea graduate. Tottenham do not have enough depth in the centre of the park and with Rodrigo Bentancur still out injured, the lack of depth is quite clear.
As a result, Tottenham are looking to return to the services of Gallagher in the winter. They will go hard and try to land him at the club. Meanwhile, Chelsea might be open to the idea of letting him leave.
The England international has come through the ranks at the club, and he made it to their first team last summer. The 23-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the past 18 months and currently, he is a very important player under Mauricio Pochettino.
However, they could still end up selling him in the winter but only if they receive the right price for his services. The Blues have enough depth in the centre of the park thanks to the summer signings they did. They added Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu to their ranks in the recently-concluded window.

As a result, selling Gallagher for the right price won’t cause much trouble. Meanwhile, his departure will be straightforward profit for Financial Fair Play reasons as he is an academy graduate. Chelsea have already sold a few homegrown players to keep the FFP in check and the same could apply to the 23-year-old.
