Italian giants AC Milan are keen on having 27-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in their ranks.
According to a report by Fichajes, AC Milan would love to have Giovani Lo Celso in their ranks. The Italian giants would be looking to further bolster their squad in the upcoming transfer windows and they have their eyes set on the 27-year-old Tottenham Hotspur playmaker.
Lo Celso joined Spurs on a season-long loan from Real Betis back in 2019. He had a great loan spell at the London club and they ended up making the move permanent in the summer of 2020.
In the initial year after the permanent switch, the Argentine international had an important role at the club. But post that things went downhill. The 27-year-old has been out on loan at Villarreal over the past 18 months.
Last season, he featured in 29 matches for the Spanish club and was on the pitch for just over 1,400 minutes. All he could manage was five goal contributions. While there were talks regarding his future throughout the summer, nothing really happened.
He might have remained at the club for the 2023-24 season but Lo Celso is unlikely to have the desired number of minutes. So far he has only been involved in two matches and has been on the pitch for just 61 minutes.
The 27-year-old is expected to have a similar role throughout the season. With the Argentine international no longer an important part of the first team, he could end up parting ways with the club in the winter or next summer.
Lo Celso’s contract ends in the summer of 2025 but he could push for a move away soon. Meanwhile, Spurs might not stand in his way as the Argentine is not important to their plans. As per the report, the London club could let him leave for as low as €20 million.
Meanwhile, AC Milan are keen on having him in their ranks. They are looking for a playmaker and believe the 27-year-old could be a great fit for the club. He is versatile in nature and will be a cost-effective option for the Italian giants who want to return to the top of European football.
