Sean Dyches Everton are ready to offload their 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes this summer.

According to a report by Football Insider, Everton are ready to part ways with Andre Gomes. The 30-year-old is not in the plans of their manager Sean Dyche. As a result, the Merseyside club are looking to get him off their books with the Turkish transfer window still open.

While the transfer window in Europe and Saudi Arabia are over, the window in Turkey remains open until September 15. As a result, Premier League clubs can still sell the players who are surplus to requirement.

While Andre Gomes was signed from Barcelona back in 2019 with a lot of expectations, things have not really gone according to plan for the Portuguese international. The 30-year-old joined Barcelona back in 2016 from Valencia. Gomes was expected to be the next big thing in La Liga. But, he failed to fire and ended up joining Everton with hopes of returning to his best. However, it hasn’t really gone according to plan.

He initially joined them on a season-long loan and post that, the move was made permanent. Overall, he has been involved in 100 matches for the Merseyside club but has only managed nine goal contributions.

Gomes was not a part of their plans, and they ended up sending him out on loan to LOSC Lille last season. He featured in 27 matches and contributed towards five goals. Even at Lille, he was not really a regular.

The 30-year-old has returned to his parent club, but there is no place for him in Sean Dyche’s squad. The English manager does not count on the Portuguese international, and Gomes has not featured in any of the games so far. As a result, the Toffees are ready to offload him.

They are actively working to search for a potential destination for the former Barcelona midfielder. His contract runs out next summer and he can discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides from 1 January. With the possibility of Gomes leaving for free next summer, they are looking to cash in on him. It will also help them in terms of Financial Fair Play.

It will be a big relief for their wage bill as the 30-year-old is reportedly paid more than £110,000-a-week at Everton. With the transfer window in Turkey still open, the Liverpool-based club are looking for options.
