Arsenal and Liverpool have joined in the chase for Antonio Musa, as the 18-year-old winger continues attracting some top clubs’ attention.

According to 90 Min, Antonio Musa has two new suitors in Arsenal and Liverpool, who are now interested in the 18-year-old winger. Only days ago, the Norwegian revealed how he might have turned down a move to Chelsea in the summer, and now more clubs are chasing his signature.

A common football may never get to the depth of a club’s plans, especially in the transfer market. Fans might have broad ideas about some notable targets on paper, but tracking every young signing could become difficult.

For instance, nobody envisaged what a signing like Gabriel Martinelli could do for Arsenal in the future. Similarly, only a few saw how Brighton can sign unpolished gems worldwide and sell them for millions in the next few years.

Chelsea have taken a similar approach but rather aggressively, signing some of the brightest young talents from everywhere. While they succeeded with most of their targets, they missed out on 18-year-old winger and Norwegian prodigy Antonio Nusa. The Blues were keen to sign him from Club Brugge during the window, but the player may have turned them down.

Nusa spoke to Norwegian outlet TV2, revealing he might have rejected an offer to join Chelsea. He said, “We had a match that day against Osasuna, so I didn’t find out about it until after the match. I saw there was a lot of stuff on my mobile phone. My cell phone exploded after the match. Then I wondered what happened. Then I realised.”

“I already knew that it wasn’t going to happen [this summer]. But then the money came on the table. Then it was seen in a slightly different way. We had to have another conversation when the money arrived, but we were on the same page, so there was no problem there. I knew what to do anyway, so it was fine.”

Other European giants like Ajax and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring his situation. From the Premier League, Arsenal and Liverpool have joined in the hunt for the 18-year-old winger, as they could test Club Brugge and the player specifically with a new offer in January.

Arsenal and Liverpool are thriving clubs for young, up-and-coming players. In recent years, they have shown their development of some notable young players, which may attract Musa. At the Emirates, he could reunite with his Norwegian captain, Martin Odegaard, which could boost the Gunners’ chances.

Liverpool are also a highly attractive destination, but Chelsea have become a hub for young players. There are risks to joining Chelsea amid the pressure to perform for young players. However, he could have a better developmental curve at Liverpool or Arsenal, considering their different approaches to developing talents.
