Liverpool are set for a minor windfall from Kamil Grabara’s move from Copenhagen to Wolfsburg, as they had a 20% sell-on clause.

According to German outlet Waz, Liverpool will receive a decent windfall from the transfer of former goalkeeper Kamil Grabara. The Polish stopper’s move from Copenhagen to Wolfsburg will earn the Merseyders millions owing to a 20% sell-on clause inserted while selling him in 2021.

The transfer window may have shut already on European shores, barring Turkey, but the Saudi one remains open for at least a few days. Liverpool are not a happy club with the latter, as there are still plenty of uncertainties about Mohamed Salah’s future.

The Merssyeisders have categorically insisted the Egyptian cannot leave at this stage of the season, but the Saudis are expected to lodge a new bid worth more than £200 million. Liverpool had turned down a £150 million mega-money offer from Al Ittihad, but the club is still in sight of the winger.

Liverpool will continue to fight off Al Ittihad in the Salah saga, who reportedly remains open to staying in England. Meanwhile, in some positive news for the Reds, they will receive a decent windfall worth millions from selling one of their former keepers.

Wolfsburg agreed on a deal with Copenhagen worth €13.5 million for former Liverpool keeper Kamil Grabara. The Polish stopper will sign for the Bundesliga side, and owing to a 20% release clause inserted by the Reds when they sold him in 2021, Jurgen Klopp’s men will receive north of €2.6 million.

The money may only matter a little regarding their transfer budget or other finances. Still, it’s a testament to Liverpool’s ability to see some of their fringe players netting the club money in the future. There are other deals around where the club have sell-on clauses in different contracts that may come to benefit them in the future.

In 2021, Liverpool sold the 24-year-old Polish keeper for around €6.2 million, more than double his market value at the time. The Reds have conducted similar high-quality sales with Rhian Brewster, who joined Sheffield United for a massive £23 million fee a year before Grabara got sold.
