A Saudi Arabian club is keen on having 23-year-old Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho in their ranks.
According to Rudy Galetti, Jadon Sancho is on the radar of a Saudi Arabian club. The 23-year-old winger has been the talk of the town of late because of a rift with his manager Erik ten Hag. The England international was left out of the squad that travelled to square up against Arsenal, and post that, things have gone from bad to worse.
On the back of his heroics at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho joined Manchester United in 2021. The Red Devils had spent a fortune to acquire his services, and he was expected to help them return to the top of European football.
But, things have not gone according to plan as he has featured in a total of 82 matches while only contributing towards 18 goals. Despite his inconsistency, the 23-year-old was a consistent feature in their first team. But, things started to change post the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
Last season, Sancho was involved in 41 matches but he was on the pitch for less than 2,500 minutes. The England international still got a decent number of minutes last season, but all he could manage was ten goal contributions.
But, the start of the 2023/24 season suggests that Sancho has gone way down in ten Hag’s pecking order. The 23-year-old has been on the pitch for just 76 minutes in his three Premier League outings. He has found it difficult under the leadership of the Dutch manager.
Things were in control until he was left out of the squad that took on Arsenal. Post that match, ten Hag was asked about why Sancho didn’t travel with the team, and the Manchester United manager said that his form in training was not good enough.
After a few hours, Sancho responded to it with a social media post that stated that those comments were untrue and he has been used as a scapegoat. The relationship between the player and manager seems to have completely broken. And, post that there has been a lot of interest in his services.
The Saudi Pro League transfer window is still open, and there is a club ready to prise him away from England. While the name of the club is not yet public, according to Galetti, they have started exploring ways to sign the 23-year-old. The Saudi Arabian club has already submitted an official offer to the player.
With the Saudi Arabian transfer window ending on Thursday, things could happen quickly. But, it will all depend on whether the player wants to leave Europe or not. But Sancho’s Manchester United future seems uncertain following the recent controversy.
