Liverpool are looking to acquire the services of 27-year-old Bayern Munich superstar Leroy Sane before the end of the transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool are keen on having Leroy Sane in their ranks. The 27-year-old forward has been doing wonders over the past few seasons for Bayern Munich and has experience of playing in the Premier League as well. As a result, the Merseyside club consider him to be an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Eygpt international has been the talk of the town over the past few weeks because of the interest in his services from Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have been pushing hard to land the Liverpool ace at their club.

They recently submitted a bid worth £150 million in total to sign the 31-year-old. But, the bid has been rejected by Liverpool. The Reds are not looking to part ways with Salah in the ongoing transfer window. And, their manager Jurgen Klopp has said it publicly on multiple occasions.

Despite that, Al Ittihad are still pushing for his services. While the Merseyside club do not want to lose Salah in the ongoing window, they have started looking for world-class replacements. A bigger offer from the Middle East could tempt Liverpool into selling and that is why they have started exploring the possibility of signing Leroy Sane.

The 27-year-old came through the ranks at FC Schalke before joining Manchester City, where he went from strength to strength over the next four years. On the back of his impressive performances, Bayern Munich acquired his services back in 2020 for a reported fee of £54.8 million.

Since joining the Bundesliga giants, he has featured in a total of 136 matches and has contributed towards 77 goals. The German international has been a consistent performer and Liverpool believe that he is capable enough to fill the boots of Salah. The 27-year-old can provide similar creativity and will be a goal threat as well.

While he prefers playing on the left flank, Sane is capable enough to feature as a right winger as well as a striker. The former Manchester City winger has enough experience of playing in the Premier League, and it won’t be a problem for him to adjust to life in England.

While Liverpool have identified the 27-year-old as a possible replacement, it will be interesting to see if Bayern Munich are ready to offload him.
