Manchester United considering Jose Gaya swoop

Manchester United are considering signing 28-year-old Valencia skipper Jose Gaya before the end of the transfer window.

It is no longer a secret that Manchester United are in desperate need of a new left-back. And, according to Deportes COPE Valencia, the Red Devils are interested in the services of Jose Gaya. The Valencia skipper has been the mainstay of his team for years now. But there is a fear that the Red Devils could lure him away from the La Liga club.

Erik ten Hag’s team focus was solely on signing a new central midfielder before the end of the transfer window. But, things took a turn when Luke Shaw suffered a long-term muscle injury injury. The England international is all set to be out injured for a long while. He is expected to miss months of football.

As a result, the Red Devils are looking to sign a new full-back. They do not have enough funds to sign someone on a permanent basis having already spent the majority of it on signing Mason Mount, Rasmus Højlund and Andre Onana.

Since signing a full-back is a must, they are looking to land someone on a season-long loan deal. They are already in talks to sign Marc Cucurella and Marcos Alonso. Cucurella has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, and the talks with Chelsea are in advanced stages.

While the talks to sign the 25-year-old Spanish international on loan continue, the Red Devils are also considering making a move for Jose Gaya. The Spaniard has come through the ranks at Valencia and has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2014. He has gone from strength to strength over the years and has been their skipper for a while now.

The 28-year-old full-back has been involved in all three of their La Liga fixtures this season. He is integral to their plans moving ahead. But, Gaya could end up joining Manchester United before the end of the deadline day.

The Red Devils are eager to sign a new full-back, and the Valencia captain is on their radar. Even Los Che are aware of the interest, and they fear the possibility of him leaving the club. It will be interesting to see which left-back joins Manchester United before Friday’s summer transfer deadline.
