Fulham have reached an agreement with Leicester City for the services of 27-year-old Belgian defender Timothy Castagne.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Fulham are keen on having Timothy Castagne in their ranks before the end of the transfer window. The Cottagers have been pushing for his signature of late and finally, have an agreement in place with Leicester City over the transfer of the 27-year-old full-back.
Marco Silva is keen on having more depth in his defence. And to be precise, he is looking for more quality at the right-back position. He is a big fan of Castagne and is keen on having him at his disposal.
He has asked Fulham to land the Belgian international at the club, and they have been in talks with the Foxes of late. Finally, the two teams have reached a common ground. Leicester City and Fulham have both agreed on a transfer worth £15 million including add-ons.
The player already has an agreement in place with the Cottagers as he was keen on a return to the top flight. The 27-year-old is all set to pen down a four-year contract, and he is expected to complete his medical by the end of the day. The official announcement of this transfer could take place on Tuesday.
Castagne’s arrival will bolster Fulham’s defence, and it will allow Marco Silva to push for a better finish in the league. It will also help the Belgian international to return to the top flight after being relegated to the Championship with Leicester City.
While the Foxes want to keep the 27-year-old at the club, the player is pushing for a return to the top flight. He doesn’t want to feature in the second division and hasn’t made any appearances for them in the new season. His contract runs until the summer of 2025 but he is keen on leaving in the ongoing window.
