Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the Argentine international defender Marcos Acuna.

According to a report from VamosMiSevillla, La Liga club Sevilla has now turned down two offers for 31-year-old World Cup winner Marcos Acuna from Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

Acuna has been a key player for club and country over the past year, and he could prove to be a quality signing for Aston Villa. The West Midlands club are reportedly looking to bring in a quality left-back before the summer transfer window closes. Lucas Digne has been linked with a move away from Aston Villa, and Alex Moreno is currently sidelined with an injury.

Acuna could prove to be a quality addition for the West Midlands club, and it remains to be seen whether Aston Villa decide to return with an improved offer to sign him. The opportunity to play in the Premier League will be an attractive option for the 31-year-old defender, and he will look to finalise a transfer soon.

Acuna was a key player for Argentina when they won the World Cup towards the end of 2022, and he helped Sevilla win the UEFA Europa League as well. The experienced defender should be able to fit in and make an immediate impact at the West Midlands club if the transfer goes through.

Aston Villa already have the likes of Unai Emery and Monchi at their disposal who have close ties at the Spanish club. It will be interesting to see if they can convince Sevilla to sell the player in the next few days. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Acuna as well and it will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done. The player has been linked with West Ham as well.

Nottingham Forest have been very active in the transfer market since their promotion to the Premier League and it would not be surprising if they decided to return with an improved offer to sign the World Cup winner.

Acuna is at the peak of his career and he will look to take up a new challenge now. A move to the Premier League could be ideal for him at this stage and he will look to make his mark in English football.
