Nottingham Forest have landed Chelsea starlet Andrey Santos on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
According to a statement on the official website of Chelsea Football Club, Premier League side Nottingham Forest have landed Brazilian talent Andrey Santos on a season-long loan deal today.
The Brazilian wonderkid arrived at Stamford Bridge from Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama and has a huge reputation as one of the finest prospects to come out of the Samba Nation in recent times. The youngster, in fact signed, for Chelsea in January before spending the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Vasco da Gama.
He arrived in West London this summer and made waves with his performances in pre-season. However, the Blues have now decided to send him out on loan in a bid to see him garner top-flight experience. A club like Nottingham Forest can give him just that and also educate Santos on what to expect in European football.
Santros captained the Brazil Under-20 side to the South American Championship and has also won his first senior cap for the Selecao. Curiously a prolific goalscorer, the time is now for him to take the next step in his development.

A central midfielder, Santos can also don a defensive role and is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park. The fast-paced nature of European football will take some getting used to, and the 19-year-old now has the opportunity to leave a mark at Nottingham.
The Tricky Trees could do with some quality in midfield. Adding Santos’s flair to the roster should give them an option for Morgan Gibbs-White to link up with. While Nottingham Forest do have several workhorses in their midfield roster, there are few who can break the lines and progress the ball like Santos.
More so, sending him to Forest could perhaps give Chelsea an advantage when it comes to the pursuit of Brennan Johnson. As long as there is no clause in Santos’s loan for a permanent option, the Blues should come out of the deal on top.
Players such as Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher earned their stripes out on loan before returning to Chelsea and donning the famous Blue jersey. If everything goes according to plan, Santos too can follow in their footsteps and take his first steps to superstardom in Europe.
