Arsenal have reportedly intensified their effort to sign Ansu Fati from Barcelona this summer, with his imminent future at Camp Nou in serious doubt.

Arsenal are pushing to sign Barcelona’s 20-year-old winger Ansu Fati as they look to bolster their wide options before the window slams shut in September. That’s according to an exclusive report from Football Transfers, which says the Gunners are now ready to ramp up their interest in the talented winger, having already initiated talks with his representatives.

The Gunners have already been very active in the summer transfer window so far, improving their squad in every area and investing in excess of £210 million in the quality additions of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya as Mikel Arteta looks to build on last season’s second-place finish in the Premier League and fare well in the Champions League as well.

Arteta will be pretty pleased with the business they have done so far, although a serious injury to Jurrien Timber has somewhat hampered his plans. However, it looks like Arsenal may not be finished with the transfer market, even though they are now focusing on offloading players more than potential arrivals.

The north Londoners are apparently pushing to bring in Ansu Fati from Barcelona in the final days of the transfer window, having already opened dialogue with Ansu Fati’s representative, Jorge Mendes.

A product of Barcelona’s academy, Fati has long been tipped for stardom and was set to be the new face of Barcelona when he inherited Lionel Messi’s No. 10 shirt; however, he hasn’t made the impact that many expected when he first burst onto the scene at Camp Nou.

Injuries kept him on the sidelines and derailed his progression, while other young talents Abde Ezzalzouli and Lamine Yamal gained minutes and are now ahead of him in the pecking order under Xavi Hernandez. Overall, the 20-year-old attacker has scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists in 110 club appearances.

With Barcelona needing a big sale to resolve their Financial Fair Play and registration problems, Fati’s name has been placed on the open market, deemed surplus to requirements, even though the player has shown no hint of wanting out.

He has four years left on his Barcelona contract, so he has the power to determine his future in his own hands. Fati, his agent, and president Joan Laporta are scheduled to meet tomorrow, where Laporta could try to persuade the 20-year-old to move on for the sake of his career.

The report also adds that although Barcelona will demand around €58.5 million (£50m) for Fati’s services, but would also be open to a loan deal as long as Arsenal are willing to cover all of his wages.

Arsenal showed trust in young Reiss Nelson by tying him down to a new deal earlier this summer, but Fati would undoubtedly be a significant upgrade that could push star winger Bukayo Saka throughout the season, and a rotation role may also suit the 20-year-old’s path to full fitness and settling into a new environment and league. That said, it remains to be seen whether the player would be open to bidding farewell to Barcelona.

Goal contributions, and the fact that he cannot get a game,is he not PEPE 2.0. He has played the same amount of games as Pepe and his goal contribution to games played is worst than Pepes!
