Bayern Munich full-back Benjamin Pavard is no longer interested in joining Premier League giants Manchester United.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via SportWitness, Manchester United were favourites for the signatures of Benjamin Pavard over the past few weeks. But, things have taken a u-turn and the 27-year-old Bayern Munich full-back is no longer interested in joining the Red Devils.

Pavard joined the German giants back in the summer of 2019. Since joining Bayern, the French international has gone from strength to strength. At this point in time, he is amongst the best in the world.

Despite being an important figure in the Bayern first-team setup, the 27-year-old is ready to part ways as he wants to take up a new challenge in his career. While the German giants want to keep him at the club, they don’t really have many options to play with as his contract expires in less than 12 months’ time.

They can’t risk losing out on him for free and are ready to negotiate his departure. Multiple reports over the past few weeks suggested that the 27-year-old wanted to join Manchester United. And, the Red Devils started making moves to sign him.

Erik ten Hag’s men were keen on having him in their ranks because of his versatility. The French international is capable enough to feature as a full-back as well as a centre-back. And, his arrival would have bolstered the Red Devils’ defence.

While they still remain interested in his services, the player is no longer keen on joining the English club. According to the report, he has rejected the opportunity to join the Manchester-based club. He prefers joining Inter Milan instead.

The Italian giants recently entered the race for his signatures. They are keen on bolstering their defence and have been very serious about their pursuit. Inter have been in talks with the German club as well as the player of late.

While the deal is not yet done, it is very close and both parties could reach an agreement soon. With the player already keen on the move, personal terms won’t be a problem. As a result, he is likely to join Inter in the coming days and has said no to Manchester United.
