West Ham United are reportedly discussing a deal for Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri.
According to 90min, Premier League side West Ham United are in talks with Sevilla regarding a summer deal for striker Youssef En-Nesyri in the ongoing summer transfer window. The Spanish club value their star striker at around €40 million.
The Moroccan international spent his formative years in his home country before moving to Malaga in 2016. While he did well at Los Albicelestes and later Leganes, it was at La Liga giants Sevilla that he achieved the moniker of a serial goalscorer.
The 26-year-old has made 157 appearances for the Europa League holders, netting 55 goals and assisting another five. A clinical presence upfront, En-Nesyri often finds the back of the net when presented with an opportunity.
The Hammers have enjoyed a busy summer but remain in the fray for an attacker. This comes after Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca departed the London Stadium for Atalanta, leaving David Moyes with just Michail Antonio and Danny Ings to lead the line.
The former is a solid player but is 33 and is unlikely to start week-in, week-out. It is imperative that West Ham bring in another attacker before the summer transfer window shuts in the coming days. Ings, meanwhile, has often struggled with injuries and is a risky player to retain faith in over the course of a season.
West Ham are interested in Ajax Amsterdam’s Mohammed Kudus. But the striker’s valuation is proving too much for the Hammers. With Elye Wahi joining RC Lens, West Ham are now looking at En-Nesyri.
The 26-year-old is valued at €40 million, a price that is cheaper than Kudus and one that should be within Moyes and Co’s budget. West Ham have been after the Moroccan since 2021 but have been unable to see a deal over the line.
A solid player who can hold up the ball and find space to run into, En-Nesyri is an experienced player who can make a telling difference for West Ham. The UEFA Conference League holders are a side on the up and could challenge for a European spot once again with the right additions.
En-Nesyri has the skill set to lead West Ham’s counter attacking style and could prove to be a worthy addition. With just under two weeks to go before the summer transfer window shuts, time is running out for the Hammers to add their finish touch.
