Crystal Palace are looking to acquire the services of 26-year-old Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson.

According to a report by 90min, Crystal Palace are in talks with Manchester United for the services of Dean Henderson. The Eagles recently made a surprise entry in the race for his signatures and have already started making moves to land him at the club.

Henderson spent the 2022/23 season out on loan at Nottingham Forest. He was having a great loan spell. But things did not go according to plan as he suffered a season-ending injury back in January.

Despite his injury, he had already impressed people at the club, and they wanted to sign him from United. But, Nottingham Forest failed to strike a deal with Manchester United as they were not ready to meet their demands.

When the Nottingham deal collapsed, it looked like Henderson would continue at United and serve as a backup option to their new number one Andre Onana. But, the arrival of Crystal Palace into the thick of things means he could be on his way out in the ongoing window.

The Eagles are preparing themselves for life without Vicente Guaita. The 36-year-old is determined to part ways with Crystal Palace, and he has not been involved in their first-team preparations throughout the summer.

With Crystal Palace ready to let him leave the club, they are actively looking for a replacement. Sam Johnstone is currently their number one. But the South Londoners want more competition in goal and have their eyes set on the Manchester United shot-stopper.

Henderson would be open to a move elsewhere as he is unlikely to get enough minutes at Manchester United. But, the major concern for Crystal Palace is his contract with Manchester United. The 26-year-old has two years left on his deal that sees him earn £100,000-a-week wages.

The Eagles cannot really afford to give him such a contract. As a result, bringing the £100,000-a-week goalkeeper to the club won’t be that easy. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have a few other options in mind and could push for them instead if needed. But, the positive is that they have initiated talks with Manchester United.
