Luton Town are interested in acquiring the services of 24-year-old Tottenham Hotspur utilityman Japhet Tanganga.

According to a report by the Express, Luton Town are keen on having Japhet Tanganga in their ranks before the end of the transfer window. The 24-year-old is expected to part ways with Spurs in the ongoing window and he could join the newly promoted Premier League club.

Tanganga has been at Tottenham since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and was promoted to their first team back in January 2020. Despite being in their first team for over three years now, the 24-year-old has featured in a total of just 50 matches.

The former England youth international was expected to cement his spot in their first team. But, he has failed to live up to the expectations. Over the years, he has gone down the pecking order and the future doesn’t seem too bright for him.

Last season he featured in only seven matches and was on the pitch for less than 350 minutes. While they have a new manager in Ange Postecoglou, things are unlikely to change for the 24-year-old.

Tanganga was left out of the squad for their opening Premier League fixture of the 2023-24 season. And, it clearly indicates the fact that he is not in the plans of the Australian boss.

While he has two years still left on his deal with the London club, a move elsewhere in the ongoing transfer window would do him a lot of good. The player is keen on getting more minutes under his belt and a loan move could be on the cards.

Luton Town who were recently promoted to the English top flight are looking to bolster their defence. And, they have their eyes on the 24-year-old. He is versatile in nature and can play anywhere in the backline. As a result, Luton are looking to bring him in on a season-long loan.

Meanwhile, there is interest from Inter Milan as well. Even they are looking to sign him on loan if they fail to acquire the services of Benjamin Pavard. Tanganga prefers joining Inter but if that move doesn’t take place, he could surely consider a move to the newly promoted Premier League club.
