Liverpool are ready to put forward an offer worth £20 million for 21-year-old Bayern Munich midfield sensation Ryan Gravenberch.
According to a report by the Bild, Liverpool are desperate to have Ryan Gravenberch in their ranks. With the clock ticking, the Merseyside club are still looking for midfield reinforcement and are willing to offer £20 million to land the Bayer Munich star at the club before the end of the transfer window.
Liverpool haven’t had the best of times in the ongoing transfer window. They entered the summer window looking to complete a midfield overhaul. At the very start of the window, they managed to acquire the services of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
It was all well and good until Jordan Henderson and Fabinho left the club and joined Saudi Pro League clubs. Their departure meant they needed to sign high-quality defensive midfielders. The Merseyside club were looking to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. But, both the players decided to join Chelsea rather than the Reds.
These snubs came as a huge blow to Liverpool. Post that they have recovered some damage by completing the signing of Wataru Endo. But, they still need another midfielder to have enough depth and quality in their ranks.
Ryan Gravenberch is a name very high on Liverpool’s list of targets and Jurgen Klopp is keen on having the 21-year-old in their ranks. The Dutch youth international is an exceptionally talented midfielder and he could surely help the Merseyside club’s cause.
He came up the ranks at Ajax before joining Bayern Munich last summer. But, his move to the German giants has not gone according to plan. Last season he was involved in a total of 33 matches but was on the pitch for less than 1,000 minutes. The 21-year-old started just six games all season long.
Things are unlikely to change in the 2023-24 season as he is below Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer in the pecking order. While his contract runs until the summer of 2027, Gravenberch is open to a move elsewhere as he seeks more first-team action.
Liverpool are ready to acquire his services and are willing to offer £20 million. But, it might not be enough to force Bayern into selling the 21-year-old sensation who is a future star in the making. According to the report, a bid of around £30 million could make the German giants ponder a potential sale.
