Alisson Becker will not entertain an offer from Al-Nassr or other Saudi Arabian clubs in the wake of reports linking him away from Liverpool.
According to Anfield Watch, Alisson Becker is uninterested in leaving Liverpool amid reports linking the Brazilian to Al-Nassr. The talismanic keeper could stay put and ignore all the talk of a move to Saudi Arabia, although the club could face a challenging period before the window shuts.
Liverpool started the transfer window well and signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboslai with minimum fuss. Then they opened the doors for Saudi Arabia to raid Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and free agent Roberto Firmino, and things changed.
Rather than moving about swiftly replacing those players, Liverpool started the season without a defensive midfielder, and that produced terrible results despite the draw. Then the Moises Caicedo debacle took place, followed by the Romeo Lavia saga, with both players choosing Chelsea as their preferred destination.
Lavia moving to Chelsea will have dealt a blow to Liverpool’s hopes of securing a top-draw midfielder, with selling clubs now knowing how much money they must spend on the position. While they are still figuring out a solution for their midfield, the Saudi Pro League have entered the frame again for two of their most important players.
Mohamed Salah had links to Al-Ittihad recently, and Alisson’s name also got a mention with Al-Nassr. The story ran by Foot Mercato recently insisted the latter were disappointed in the performances of their current keeper Nawaf Al-Awidi against Al-Ettifaq and wanted the Liverpool talisman to replace him.
The report also mentioned Alisson was open to the challenge, considering it would have a lucrative financial package like some of the other footballers received. Hence, supporters seemed to panic in thinking they could lose their talismanic star to the lure of the Saudis.
Meanwhile, the current report from Anfield Watch insists Alisson remains uninterested in any move to Saudi Arabia and wants to stay at Liverpool. He also signed a long-term deal with the Merseyside in 2021, which lasts until 2027.
Hence, Liverpool may have all the power to keep the Brazilian for whom they paid around €72.5 million, inclusive of add-ons, when he arrived from AS Roma. Taking the Brazilian away from Anfield would take a monumental offer, considerably larger than the above sum, and a massive salary.
