Everton are seeking the signature of Leeds United star Jack Harrison this summer
According to The Athletic, Premier League side Everton are seeking an agreement to secure the services of Leeds United star Jack Harrison in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old is currently undergoing a medical and personal terms have already been agreed. There is a clause in the Leeds star’s contract that will allow the Toffees to land him on a season-long loan with the option to make the agreement permanent next summer.
A move to Merseyside will not be something new for Harrison who was brought up in Greater Manchester and spent a season in the Liverpool Academy. He also had stints at Manchester United Black Rock and Manhattan before moving to New York City in 2016.
Despite being signed by Manchester City in 2018, he largely spent spells out on loan at Middlesbrough and Leeds before making the move to the latter permanent in 2021. An experienced player, the 26-year-old is now well acquainted with the demands of the Premier League and can prove to be an inspired addition at Goodison Park.
Primarily a left-winger, Harrison can also do a job on the other flank. With Arnaut Danjuma already brought in, adding Harrison into the mix will give Sean Dyche an added boost going forward. For the player, it represents a solid opportunity to return to the top flight and not slug it out with Leeds in the Championship.
Everton put on a strong showing against Fulham in their season opener last night but the lack of cutting edge upfront saw them fail to convert their chances. Doing so on a consistent basis will only see them once again mired in a relegation dogfight.
While Harrison might not be a world-class talent who can turn games in the turn of a hand, he is reliable and can thrive in the right system. A strong tackler, he often opts to cross the ball which can suit Sean Dyche’s tactics just fine. This attribute could take off should Dominic Calvert-Lewin stay fit to lead the line for an extended period of time.
