The 32-year-old, who has a release clause of €50 million, is the leading candidate to cover for the absence of Thibaut Courtois. And Los Blancos will soon initiate discussions with Sevilla for the goalkeeper, who wants to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Yassine Bounou has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga since joining Sevilla from Girona. The Moroccan international was an unknown quantity before his move to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. But after a successful loan stint in the 2019/20 season, he completed a permanent transfer and has not looked back.
The 32-year-old was also one of the architects of his nation’s record-breaking run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And Bono has won two UEFA Europa League titles during his stint with Sevilla, where he has kept 58 clean sheets in 140 appearances. Meanwhile, his progress has not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among his prospective suitors.
