Inter Milan are hoping to land the 27-year-old Manchester United forward Anthony Martial at the club before the end of the transfer window.

According to the CaughtOffside, Inter Milan are interested in the services of Anthony Martial. The 27-year-old striker has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and they are ready to negotiate his departure.

Martial came into the limelight while playing for AS Monaco. His exceptional talent and huge potential forced Manchester United to make a move. The Red Devils managed to acquire his services back in the summer of 2015.

The French international joined the club with a lot of expectations and he started off in fine fashion. Initially, the former Monaco star was a regular feature in the first team but injuries and inconsistent performances started affecting his game time.

Overall, he has featured in a total of 298 matches for the Manchester-based club. The 27-year-old has managed to find the back of the net on 88 occasions and also has 53 assists to his name.

While his numbers are good, the French international has fallen down the pecking order of late. Last season, injuries kept him out from quite a few matches. Martial only made a total of 29 appearances and contributed towards 12 goals while being on the pitch for less than 1500 minutes.

The 27-year-old forward is not a part of Erik ten Hag’s plans moving ahead and he is ready to offload the French international. The arrival of Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for just over £70 million suggests that Martial is unlikely to get the desired minutes. And, with his contract running out next summer, the Red Devils feel it is the right time to offload him.

There hasn’t been much interest in the forward throughout the summer but of late Inter Milan has showcased their interest in his services. And, it is no secret that Inter want to sign a new striker. Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun has been their top target for a while now.

But, they can’t really afford to meet the asking price set by the Gunners. As a result, they are monitoring the prospect of signing the Manchester United striker. But, his wages are a bit of a problem for Inter who can’t match his current salary of around £13 million per year. Despite that, they have asked to be kept informed on Martial’s situation.
