Everton accelerating bid to sign Hugo Ekitike

Fulham set to sign Ernest Nuamah, beat Everton to deal.

Sean Dyche’s Everton are keen on acquiring the services of the 21-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike.

According to Rudy Galetti, Everton are keen on having Hugo Ekitike in their ranks before the end of the transfer window. While they have already signed Youssef Chermiti, the Liverpool-based club are keen on adding another striker to the mix.

Everton are interested in the services of the Paris Saint-Germain forward and have been pushing hard for his services of late. They have been in talks with the French club and the talks have been progressing at a good pace.

While the player is yet to make a decision on his future, the Tofees are pushing as hard as possible in order to win the race for his signatures. They are well aware of the interest from clubs across Europe and do not want to miss out on the 21-year-old sensation.

Ekitike was part of the Stade Reims youth academy. He came through the ranks at the club and made it to their first team. His impressive performances and huge potential attracted the attention of PSG who signed him back in the summer of 2020.

They acquired the French Under-21 star on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy. The move became permanent at the start of the ongoing transfer window. While his contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2027, there is a real possibility of him leaving the club just a year after joining them.

While on loan at the French club, the 21-year-old featured in a total of 32 matches and racked up close to 1400 minutes. He managed to make a name for himself in an attack that consisted of the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

The French youth international contributed towards eight goals despite being used as a substitute on majority of occasions. While he has the potential to be an exceptional player in the near future, PSG are ready to negotiate his departure and there are multiple clubs interested in him.

Everton are one of the clubs that have been monitoring the 21-year-old for a while now and they have been making moves of late. The arrival of Chermiti surely bolsters their attack but they want further depth to ensure they do not struggle in the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose fitness has been a concern over the past two seasons.
