Crystal Palace and Liverpool are cooling their interest in Torino ace Perr Schuurs
According to Toro.it, Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Liverpool are both showing little interest in pursuing a deal for Torino star Perr Schuurs in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Dutch ace moved to the Serie A club last summer and immediately filled the void left by Gleison Bremer who had left for Juventus. He was a rock at the back for Il Toro and has attracted much attention from clubs across Europe thanks to his performances and consistency.
Both Palace and Liverpool appeared sold on a summer move for the 23-year-old but links of late have gone cold. A strong player who is both physically and technically proficient, Schuurs ticks the boxes of abilities needed to thrive in the English top flight. At just 23, his best years are ahead of him and the Dutchman will only get better with more experience.
Schuurs is a long-term investment and would have slotted right into the Palace backline. The Eagles are in a state of rebuilding and could do with a reliable partner for Marc Guehi. There is every reason to believe both players would future-proof the positions for years to come.

The same can be said of Liverpool whose primary focus remains a rebuild of their midfield roster this summer. Virgil van Dijk is not getting any younger while Joel Matip has regressed. Joe Gomez has also failed to return to his best leaving Jurgen Klopp with just Ibrahima Konate as a serious long-term option.
Schuurs’s ability on the ball could see him develop into a key player for the Reds in the years to come. However, their focus appears to be on other positions or targets with interest cooling down.
As things stand, Schurus is preparing for the 2023/24 season with Torino. While the Italians remain open to a deal, they are unwilling to entertain any offers below their asking price. Interested parties will need to fork out around €40 million to secure the Dutchman this summer.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the defender in recent days. It remains to be seen if either side is willing to make their move to secure his services.
