Chelsea are ready to offload their 28-year-old shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga after signing Robert Sanchez from Brighton.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are looking to cash in on Kepa Arrizabalaga. The 28-year-old goalkeeper is not a part of their plans going ahead and they are ready to negotiate his departure amidst interest from Bayern Munich.
Arrizabalaga joined Chelsea back in the summer of 2018. The Blues paid a world record fee of £72 million for a goalkeeper to sign him from Athletic Bilbao. While he had an exceptional start to his time at the London club, things went downhill after a few years and he was replaced as their number one by Édouard Mendy.
Last season both Mendy and Arrizabalaga were not at their best. As a result, the Blues decided to move on from the duo and sign a new goalkeeper. Mendy has already left the club and moved to the Saudi Pro League. And, post that Chelsea have acquired the services of Robert Sanchez.
The Blues were in talks with Brighton for a while now and have finally managed to sign him for a fee of £25 million. With the number one position sorted, they are now ready to let the Spanish international leave the club.
While the 28-year-old was expected to stay at the club and fight for a spot in the starting XI, Mauricio Pochettino is very confident about the abilities of Sanchez and is ready to let go of the former Bilbao shot-stopper.
The Spanish international still has two years left on his deal and they are ready to cash in on him. Bayern Munich are interested in the Chelsea shot-topper. They recently sold Yann Sommer to Inter Milan and are now looking for someone to take charge in goal until their number one Manuel Neuer is back fit and ready to go.
As a result, the German giants are looking to propose a loan offer with a buy option. With the Blues looking to raise funds from his sale, it will be interesting to see how they react to this loan plus buy option offer.
