Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on 25-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion defender Pervis Estupinan over a potential move.
According to a report from Football Transfers, Liverpool are plotting to sign a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson. And they have identified 25-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion defender Pervis Estupinan as a potential target.
Estupinan has done quite well for Brighton since the departure of Marc Cucurella, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the Reds. Liverpool currently have Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as their left-back options.
The Greek international has struggled for regular game time at Anfield and has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. If Tsimikas ends up leaving, Liverpool will need another left-back at the disposal. So Estupinan would be a solid acquisition for the Merseyside club.
The 25-year-old is well-settled in the Premier League, and he should be able to make an immediate impact at Liverpool. The Reds must look to add more quality and depth at the back this season.
Liverpool looked quite vulnerable defensively last season. Andy Robertson was not at his best, and players like Joel Matip and Joe Gomez will need upgrading as well. Liverpool have been linked with a number of central defenders as well, including Perr Schuurs. And it remains to be seen whether they can sign a couple of quality defenders to improve their back line.
Meanwhile, the opportunity to join a big club like Liverpool will be tempting for the Ecuadorian international. But it will be interesting to see if Estupinan looks to get the move to Anfield across the line.
Liverpool have recently negotiated the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister with Brighton, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince the Seagulls to sell another key player to them this summer. The Redsl had a disappointing 2022/23 campaign, and they will be hoping to bounce back strongly.

Returning to the Champions League will be a top priority for them, and they need to bring in the right reinforcements in order to match up to their top-four rivals. Players like Estupinan could prove to be handy options for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp next season. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a fee now.
